In a large fish-shaped glass greenhouse located in Singapore Bay, during the third week of August, the [Singapore Garden Festival](https://www.singaporegardenfestival.com) was held. Asia's most prestigious gardening event, which featured an exhibition of 250,000 plants from more than a thousand different varieties, and with 300,000 visitors confirming the success of this edition of the event.
The Festival, in which renowned international designers participate, reveals to professionals and amateurs new proposals in both garden design and floral art. A unique feature of this edition was that, for the first time, some of the installations were presented outside the venue and could be visited from elevated walkways at 10 meters height.
Visitors were able to enjoy the interesting proposals that were organized in different categories: Windows to the World, Floral Table Series and Balcony Gardens about floral compositions, on one hand and on the other hand, the Landscape Gardens along with the star category, the Fantasy Gardens.
In this last section, we highlight the winning proposal from French landscape architect James Basson, with his imaginary garden "Tartarus", which was also awarded as best construction and best lighting. On this occasion, Basson proposes a symbolic journey through Tartarus, the mythological cave where the Titans were buried for all eternity. The installation creates a dark and humid atmosphere, of tropical jungle, which materializes through exuberant vegetation, along with carnivorous plants and vines that relate to the metal structure that runs through this unique garden.
In addition to the proposals of the Fantasy Gardens, we found some interventions from the interior design section interesting, with proposals for small vertical gardens to fill living rooms and offices with life, which provide multiple advantages such as improving air quality, creating relaxation areas and increasing space quality.
In the Sala Graupera catalog there is a section exclusively dedicated to plants adapted for [vertical gardening](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/jardi-vertical), where we can find numerous species, both for sunny and shady areas, as well as plants with striking blooms. Among those we highlight, for locations without direct sunlight similar to this, the\ \_[Acorus gramineus "Ogon"](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/jardi-vertical/item/acorus-gramineus-ogon-2)_, the _[Bartlettina sordida](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/jardi-vertical/item/bartlettina-sordida-eupatorium-4)_, the _[Pratia pedunculata](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/jardi-vertical/item/pratia-pedunculata-4)_, the _[Tulbaghia violacea](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/jardi-vertical/item/tulbaghia-violacea-4)_ or the _[Ophiopogon japonicus](http://www.salagraupera.com/es/cataleg/jardi-vertical/item/ophiopogon-japonicus-2)_ among others.
