It is a species belonging to hardiness zone 8, with an average annual minimum temperature range of -12.2 / -6.7°C. Resistant to moderate frosts within the intervals of the Mediterranean climate.
Its water needs are very low, especially once it is well rooted, being able to withstand long periods of drought and a single watering during summer. It is important to remember that the first 10-12 weeks after planting, establishment watering is necessary to guarantee good rooting.
Convolvulus sabatius prefers to be located in full sun, being suitable for sunny sustainable gardens or sunny coastal meadows, as it is also a species resistant to salinity and sea breeze.
In relation to the most suitable soil type, a neutral or slightly siliceous soil is preferable, although it can grow well in calcareous soils; provided that all of them are well drained. It is undoubtedly a very suitable species for rockeries and stony soils.
It is a very interesting species to be planted alone or together with other low-growing shrub species, forming ground covers. Its hanging habit can make it interesting for growing on walls and favor its hanging habit.

As main care, it is advisable to perform a light pruning after flowering to rejuvenate the aerial part of the plant and watch for possible pests such as aphids. It is also possible to prune in late winter to preserve the shape and avoid lignification of the stems.
It is a highly recommended plant that from Viveros Sala Graupera we encourage you to try.
